1988 Quakes [graphic reference]
The Quakes are a psychobilly band led by guitarist and vocalist Paul Roman. Their first release is a
graphic reference to the Stray Cats first album.
In an interview Paul Roman reflected on this. Here is the question and the answer:
Question: Your first album was a graphic reference to the first Stray Cats album...
Answer: "We did what they did by coming to London and getting a record deal. I thought it was a
good Idea- I had seen pictures of the Bluecats album that references the
Gene Vincent album and some Polecats pictures that were like the Beatles album cover standing over the railing.
It was a cool idea and it worked for us."
The whole interview and many more facts about the Quakes can be found on The Rockabilly Chronicle.
